Never giving up

I found my first year very challenging, but it gave me a real wake-up call.  My tutors, through their support system, encouraged me to resit my exams and guided me through my assignments. Their belief in me was a huge turning point.

In my second year, I decided to truly commit to my studies, and this effort paid off when I achieved a 2:1. It was then that I realised I could succeed. The final year brought its own challenges, including health issues and family problems, culminating in a visit to A&E just a month before my final project was due. But despite all these setbacks, I persevered. The true key to my success was the incredible support from friends and faculty members.

Contributing to the tech sector in the future

My final year involved a deep dive into programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Java, HTML, and CSS. This solid foundation was crucial in my successful development of a fitness app, showcasing my ability to bridge theory with practical application.

After engaging in modules on Secure Development and Deployment, Applied Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security, I am gearing up to contribute significantly to the tech sector. I am particularly excited about enhancing my fitness app with AI, pushing the boundaries of personalisation and user engagement.

Balancing my academic pursuits with a variety of part-time roles honed my skills in time management and adaptability. These experiences have equipped me with a unique set of skills, making me well-suited for the dynamic nature of the tech industry.

A proud achievement

I am proud to say that I am the first male in my family to graduate. This accomplishment belongs to everyone who stood by me. I am incredibly grateful to my peers, tutors, and family for their encouragement and support. Completing this degree at Leeds Trinity has been transformative.

A course giving so many opportunities

This degree has already opened many doors for me, and I am excited about the future. Attending this University was the best decision I ever made. Here’s to the future and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

I am enthusiastic about pursuing a career that challenges me and makes the most of my skills in computer science. I am eager to find opportunities where I can continue to grow, innovate, and make meaningful contributions to technology and society.

My advice to other students

To anyone who is ever struggling, keep going and be the best version of yourself. There is a place for people from all backgrounds to achieve their dreams. Strive to find a work-life balance that suits you and help others do the same. Make your family proud.
